Zabrze, Poland. In the autumn of 1946 she was one of the children brought out of Poland on the Rabbi Herzog train. This train brought them from Zabrze to Czeckia and then to France. In France Fania stayed in the Fublaines orphanage for nearly a year. In the autumn of 1947 she was brought from Marseilles to Israel by boat.
FANIA'S MEMORIES:
We lived in Romania, but fled to Ukraine. Then I was put on a train with my mother. While on the train, my mother threw me off. I had a little bundle with documents.

Our great hope is finding any documents or lists for this orphanage covering the period before autumn 1946. Perhaps special files were compiled for the children going with the Rabbi Herzog train?

I believe this is the Ciuciuleni (there are two) now in Moldova at coordinates 4701' 28?25', 20.5 miles almost directly west of Chisinau (Kishinev). -Logan
